Remembrance Sunday – 8th November 2026
Please gather at the War Memorial at 10.55am on Sunday 8th November for the wreath-laying ceremony, which will be followed by a church service for those who wish to attend. If at all possible, could you please avoid parking near the War Memorial between 10am and midday on Sunday 8th November and minimise any vehicle movements during the event.
Christmas Tree on the village green 2027
The Christmas Tree on the Village Green will be back again this year! The tree is expected to be installed at the end of November in time for a switching on of the lights at 6pm on the Saturday 28th November, weather permitting.
As in previous years the tree is coming from ‘Higher Willand Farm Christmas Trees & Gift Shop’. If you are interested in getting a Christmas Tree from them for yourself, please contact them at Higher Willand Farm, Churchstanton, Taunton TA3 7RL, phone numbers 07815 059823 / 07818 462121. Alternatively keep on eye on the Payhembury Parish Facebook page – a supply of trees from Higher Willand Farm is normally available for local collection closer to Christmas.
Many thanks to Luton Green Sawmill for their generous donation this year, which will cover the cost of the Christmas tree and lights for 2026 and towards a Christmas tree for 2027.
