Payhembury Annual Parish Meeting &
Payhembury Parish Council meeting
Wednesday 12th March 2025, 7.25pm, in the Parish Hall and via Zoom
Payhembury Annual Parish Meeting (APM) will be held in the Parish Hall and via Zoom on Wednesday 12th March, starting at 7.25pm. The purpose of the APM is to provide a forum where the Parish Council can inform residents about their activities over the past year, and where residents can raise concerns and have a say on matters important to their community.
The APM will then be followed by the bi-monthly Parish Council meeting. The two meetings will be a combined hybrid meeting with members of the public able to attend either in-person in the Parish Hall or via Zoom (meeting ID = 862 6903 9045; passcode = 689238; webpage = www.zoom.us/join) or via telephone (contact the Clerk for details). The agendas for the meetings will be available as normal on the noticeboard and the Parish Council website (https://payhembury-pc.gov.uk/category/agendas/).
Roadworks – March, April & May 2025
The following roadworks are scheduled for the coming months:
27th February – 6th March: Road from Payhembury Cross to Markers Park
Western Power will be installing a joint pit for new connection – outside the Parish Hall. The road should still be open, but narrower than normal.
27th May – 31st May: Road from Payhembury Cross to Markers Park
Western Power will be laying a new mains cable to remove pole mounted transformer and move substation onto new development – outside the Parish Hall. The road will probably be closed for this work.
For further information or updates, please see the Devon County Council ‘Interactive roadworks map’ on the webpage https://www.devon.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/traffic-information/roadworks/live-roadworks-information/
East Devon District Council
Consultation on varied Public Spaces Protection Orders
East Devon District Council has three existing Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) which apply across the district. These include the 2024 Dog Control PSPO, 2023 Seashores and Promenades PSPO, and the 2023 Control of Anti-Social Behaviour & the Consumption of Intoxicating Substances in Exmouth PSPO.
We are required to review each PSPO every three years and during this process, we are proposing a number of changes to the new 2026 Order. For any extension or variation to the Order, we are required to carry out a public consultation and this includes consulting landowners, local community groups, the local policing body, Town/Parish Councils and members of the public.
The consultation will run for eight weeks between 3rd March 2025 and 28th April 2025. To view the consultation and comment on proposals, please visit our online community engagement hub https://publicspacesprotectionorderfullreview.commonplace.is/
If you require a different format to view and participate in the consultation, please email engagement@eastdevon.gov.uk
To view the current PSPOs, please visit the Council’s website https://eastdevon.gov.uk/environmental-health-and-wellbeing/public-spaces-protection-orders-pspos/ . Please note that any comments received after the consultation end date may not be taken into account.
